What does the name TriviaPlus mean?
According to Wikipedia, "Trivia commonly refers to bits of information and data that are of little value. Trivia often is equated with trivialities."
The "Plus" in "TrivaPlus", however, means that there is a serious information content in addition to the entertainment value.

Can I see a mockup of the app?
There is a prototype that works for both Android and iOS smartphones. Please go to https://prototype.triviaplus.de in the browser of your smartphone. If you set English as your standard language, the mock will automatically switch to English.

Do you run the App TriviaPlus by yourself?
Yes, at the moment (June 2019) I am the initiator and have the overall responsibility for the project. The legal form of the "TriviaPlus" project is that of a sole proprietorship. This has to do with German Commercial Code.

Who helps you, with whom are you associated?
On the one hand, I am associated with the programmer I trust: I talked to Eduard Steinmiller, Managing Director of Evorim GmbH, about the conception of the app for many months. Evorim GmbH will technically implement TriviaPlus for me. On the other hand, I have many friends who support me with input for the project.

If you are a sole trader, how can you guarantee data protection according to DSGVO?
TriviaPlus is an online based project. This means: With the exception of email correspondence and messages on my answering machine, all personal data collected by the App TriviaPlus goes to an ISP located in Germany. Personal data is being stored here.

Credit card data is received and administered exclusively by the relevant service providers. This is so protected that not even I as the owner of the app have access to the credit card data transmitted.

Apple Store and Google Play are responsible for data security.

Concerning email: Yes, this is currently being done via Google. You will have to agree to this when signing the TriviaPlus Terms of Service (ToS).

I found TriviaPlus on the StartNext crowdfunding platform? Right?
At StartNext I raise money to get TriviaPlus up and running. I financed the prototype for viewing from my own funds, but I don't have the means to fund the entire project. Please look in the menu of this website. StartNext is mentioned there as a separate item.

What if I have questions for you at StartNext?
I can be reached via StartNext, but also via the contact details provided here on this site. I answer every question personally and as fast as I can.

Why does a simple app like TriviaPlus cost 12,400 Euro?
If you are referring to Startnext: The first version of the app costs about 9,000 Euro. Anyone who knows the ropes knows that 9,000 Euro is a rather low price for the development of an app of this kind. About 3,000 Euro are included in the price for the starting costs of the project. This includes the "thank yous" at  Startnext, which cost about 2,000 Euro including postage.

Where do the questions from the first sets come from, i.e. the questions without the participation of the community?
Since I had the idea for TriviaPlus in 2015, I've been writing down facts and stories that I've come across in different media. I like to read a whole lot of magazins, newspapers, magazins. What are Burrneshas? Where does the term "boycott" come from? What is a Pangram? Super interesting. These notes were the beginning of TriviaPlus.

Have you checked how your questions are received?
I played through the first sets of 5 X 30 = 150 questions + three answer options + the corresponding story with three people so far. Each of these three sessions lasted about 15 hours, spread over two to three days.

Using a questionnaire, I evaluated the quality of the question, the answer options, the answer, the surprise factor and the quality of the story that follows the answer. The results are documented in writing. All test persons were enthusiastic and confirmed a high "addiction factor" to the questions.

Are you associated with the German Quiz Association?
No. I was at a Quiz Championship of the Association in February 2019, but I am not known there and not a member. To be honest, I'm not very good at quizzes, and TriviaPlus is not a quiz in the traditional sense of the word.

Is the name "TriviaPlus" protected?
The word mark "TriviaPlus" is registered under No. 30 2019 212 819.6 / 09 at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office.
